Luxury & Private Tours in New Zealand

The top ten percent of everything we list, by price. Heli-adventures over the Southern Alps, private fiord cruises, exclusive Māori cultural experiences and multi-day grand tours — every one bookable direct with the operator.

What is on this page, and how it got here

Every trip below is NZ$1,500 or more and is drawn live from the same catalogue as the rest of the site — there is no separate hand-curated list to go stale. When an operator changes a price or pulls a date, this page changes with it.

NZ$1,500 is roughly the top ten percent of our New Zealand inventory: the median tour on this site is NZ$205. Prices are shown in New Zealand dollars exactly as the operator publishes them — we never convert a currency, because a converted price is a price nobody can actually pay.

Most of these are private or exclusive-hire experiences, so the figure is commonly for the whole aircraft, vessel or vehicle rather than per person. Check the operator’s own page for what a given price covers.

Where the premium trips are

Franz Josef & the Glaciers

The most expensive experiences in the country sit here. Ski-plane and helicopter flights land on the névé above the Franz Josef and Fox glaciers, and the full-day trips run through to the fiords and back.

Queenstown & Fiordland

Private hire of vessels on Milford and Doubtful Sound, heli-hiking on the Heaphy, and the multi-day South Island grand tours that string the lot together.

Rotorua & the Central North Island

Exclusive-access Māori cultural experiences — geothermal valleys and evening ceremonies booked as a private party rather than joining a coach group.

Auckland & the Bay of Islands

The deepest set of private guided day tours, chauffeured wine touring through Marlborough and Waiheke, and private charter out of the Waitematā.
